      Tis the season for red velvet cake and cupcakes! Sarah is an avid red velvet fan, and truth-be-told I usually don't seek it out.  That being said, I am a very big fan of the recipe below!  I'll be transparent, this is not a standard southern red velvet cake with subtle vinegar tang.  But it's similar and boasts a delicious moist crumb with just slightly more chocolate than normal, while still letting the cream cheese frosting have the starring role.

      These soft, decadent Crinkle Cookies feature the iconic powdery, cracked surface we all love.  The fresh flour adds a tenderness that is irresistible and the espresso powder adds a deep, rich chocolate flavor and makes them stand apart from their more typical mega-sweet counterparts.  

      They will be very soft when they come out of the oven and setup as they cool. If you bake them for too long, the centers will not be fudgy.  The fudgy soft center paired with the slight crunch on the outside is to die for!

      These are the soft chewy gingersnaps of my childhood. They are delicious year-round, but especially at Christmastime. The outside has a slight crisp and the inside boasts a light tenderness that will leave you wanting to eat the entire batch!  Dip these cookies in white chocolate for an extra decadent flare, or top with a roasted marshmallow for a spiced s'mores twist (see variations below).       Fresh Flour Pie Crust

      This homemade buttery fresh flour pie crust uses 100% whole grains, via our four grain Dessert Berry Blend, and 100% real butter.  It is flaky and can hold up to the savory weight of a chicken pot pie or sweet filling of a delicious apple pie.  I am a huge pie fan, but I am also pretty particular, because all crusts are not created equal.  I had arguably the best all-purpose crust recipe from my grandma, so I was initially nervous about fresh flour for pie crusts. I realize this is probably a non-issue for most people, but my family and I are rotisserie-chicken-pot-pie lovers, so I'm thrilled to share what I've been working on and what we've been loving. This one is loved by my family and I love the added nutrients and fiber they get while eating this delicious dessert!
