Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders
Chances are you may have some leftover ham from Easter. If so, I have the perfect solution for you! These bake into a juicy ham and cheese sandwich with a very slight crispiness from the butter mixture that covers the rolls. Delicious!
As an aside, I used to make these with the sugar-loaded Hawaiian rolls from the store, and so the first time I attempted them with my homemade slider-rolls (using Simple Sandwich Dough) I was a tad nervous. When my family approved I was very happy! My husband said they are actually better now and they are now one of my son's favorite meals! Such an easy 35 minute weeknight meal to keep on the rotation. You can either use up any leftover spiral cut ham or you can use slices of ham from the deli counter. Let us know in the comments if you give this a try, we highly encourage it!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the Unsifted® Hawaiian Rolls
- Follow the Unsifted® Hawaiian Rolls recipe card to make 12 sliders, about 65g each (sub: Japanese Milk Bread or Simple Sandwich Bread recipes)
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan
- Using a serrated knife, slice 12x Hawaiian Rolls in half
- Place bottom halves of Hawaiian rolls in greased pan touching each other (this will form a large bread layer)
2. Assemble the sandwich layers
- Spread ⅓ cup mayonnaise onto bottom halves of rolls
- Add about half the ham evenly on top of the mayo
- Layer 8 slices Swiss cheese on top (or more if desired)
- Layer remaining ham on top
- Add the tops of the rolls to each
3. Mix + Pour butter mixture over rolls
- To a small bowl, add ½ cup melted butter
- Add 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- Add 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Add 1 Tbsp onion powder
- Add 1 pinch salt
- Add ¼ tsp black pepper
- Using a spoon, stir well
- Pour mixture evenly over the top of the rolls (it’s okay for some of the mixture to pool at the base of the rolls)
4. Mix + Sprinkle topping + Rest
- To another small bowl, add ½ Tbsp poppy seeds
- Add 1 tsp minced garlic
- Add 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Using a spoon, stir together well
- Sprinkle topping evenly over tops of rolls
- Cover pan with aluminum foil
- Let rolls to rest at room temperature for 5-10 minutes
5. Bake
- Without removing the aluminum foil, bake covered rolls at 375F for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese has melted
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for 3-5 minutes
- Remove from oven once tops are as crispy as desired (watch closely so they do not burn)
- Use a knife to separate into individual sliders (be careful not to scrape the pan)
- Serve immediately

STORAGE TIPS
These ham and cheese sliders are best served fresh and warm, right out of the oven. However, cooled sliders may be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or oven to warm through and re-crisp tops. We recommend reheating covered with aluminum foil at about 350F.

MAKE AHEAD TIP
Bake the Hawaiian Rolls ahead of time and once cooled, place in freezer bag until day-of or night before. Thaw rolls at least 2 hours in advance, so they are room temperature for assembly.
