French Toast
I knew I was going to have to write down this version of French Toast for keeping when my oldest (formerly non-French Toast liker) proclaimed "this is SO good" and then proceeded to voluntarily tell others throughout the day about the French Toast! Hilarious! This is also an excellent use of older bread....if you ever have such a thing. Easy, delicious, and kid approved!

Unsifted's French Toast
PREP: 15 min
COOK: 10 min
YIELD: 4 servings
Ingredients:
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
pinch salt
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp nutmeg, ground
8 slices Unsifted Simple Sandwich Bread
4 tbsp butter
Instructions:
- In a flat bottomed pan (like a pie plate), use a fork to whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Heat 10-inch or 12-inch skillet/griddle to medium heat and melt butter.
- Place individual bread slices in egg mixture to coat bread on both sides than place on heated skillet/griddle and cook until golden brown on each side (about 2-3 minutes).
- Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup, or keep warm in oven until ready to served for up to 30 minutes.
Kid-tip: I recommend cutting the toast into 4 slices to make French Toast sticks. Those are a big hit around my home and I don't usually even offer syrup with them to the boys. If I do, I just put a little in a small sauce cup so they can dip but not have mass amounts of sugar.
